Good Fences #23

I've posted this place a few years ago, but it's worth a repeat. A nice entrance tucked back into the trees, probably leading to the main residence.

Williams
And just off that main gate is this fence signage.
Sandy Oak Ranch
Driving along the property, intermittently would be these fence panels.

The oak leaf and acorn motif must have required a lot of welding work.
And a lot of painting at one time, too.
Continuing on, more intermittent panels.
I'd not want that re-painting job, now.
You'd think you had reached a new property...
only to see another matching panel.
And more.
And finally, a working entrance to the ranch along a side road with one of those lovely oaks behind it.

LOVE the 'Sandy Oak' gate!! Wow.

Nice! At this point, I like the rust that has appeared though it's obviously not good for the fence. The panel placement is a bit different.

That is beautiful! It really enhances the entrance - and nice Sandy Oak sign. All those oak leaves...

Very pretty....guess using spray paint wouldn't be too bad but I don't want the job.;)
Thanks for hosting (and I'm sure you will notice I didn't slip one mouthful of sweets into my fence post this week.)

Sandy Oak Ranch certainly marked their territory . . .
Again and again . . . and kept the oak leaf theme going.
Nice fence . . . (I wouldn't want that painting job either!)

Must be a huge ranch. Love those oak leaves!

Nice , but should be renovated.

I like the extra panel out in the field ... but no, I wouldn't want the upkeep either ...

Beautiful!!! So peaceful looking. The two ADT signs take away from the theme they have going, though.

I really like those welded oak leaves.

My turn to say Holy Smoke Theresa!:) The Williams entrance gate is very impressive, and I like the motif along the fence.

the panel kind of reminds me of a bed headboard! definitely unique! love the entrance!

That is some beautiful artwork on the fence... I wonder if someone is going to get the job of repainting the fence at some point. Very unusual.

It's a lovely fence/gate. My maiden name was Williams!

The intermittent panels are both odd (to me) and delightful.

What a unique fence with the fancy panels. I was just telling my husband, Could he believe it was Good Fences #23 and when I did my link, I was link #23! Time flies when you're having fun! Thanks Tex! Hugs!

I really like that oak leaf fence, especially how the panels are interspersed along the fence line. Must be a pretty big ranch too.

Birdman said...

Why do I always hear the faint, in the distance theme to Dallas when I view your grand fence entrances?

messymimi said...

That gate would be a beautiful welcome home sight!

Small City Scenes said...

Wow looks like the ranch itself must be pretty fancy. I like wrought iron fencing. MB

Kenneth Cole Schneider said...

Those decorative panels do mark that rancher's territory (this must be a mammalian trait). What a splendid entrance gate!

A real nice selection here. I love the welding work on the first.

So beautiful fences! Near my house there's a house with a gate in a heart shape. Amazing!

Mike @ A Bit About Britain said...

That first picture looks as though it should lead to a grand mansion, possibly long abandoned, where there is some great mystery. And I haven't touched the drink since yesterday, your honour. Loved the intricate fence panels - yes, someone had some spare cash!

eViL pOp TaRt said...

Those fence panels are obviously a labor of love and creativity.

Irma said...

Beautiful different fences.
These with the oak leaves I find really great.

thirtysevenandcounting said...

Definitely a very large ranch! The oaks are beautiful, lining the drive. The decorative panels really stand out and not what I would typically expect in Texas. :) I wonder if the owner came from Louisiana since there are the fleur de lis finials? It must look hugely impressive when driving by!

Thanks for hosting!

Love the Oak leaves and Acorn theme. Our first wedding bands have oak leaves and acorns on them and alas neither my husbands or mine will fit on our ring fingers anymore...oye!
I always wonder what's beyond the gates and fences...

Yes, I love it, wonderful fences! Wonderful photos!

Mary said...

Wow. That would be a lot of work. But they look great.

MTWaggin said...

Okay THAT is super cool fence. I love that the panels sort of tell you that it is still the same property and also that they didn't neglect the working entrance. Absolutely lovely!

Karen Schurr said...

How interesting that they put those decorative panels along the way. Such cool fences.

Sally said...

Love it! Wow, yes so intricate!

I keep saying one day I'm just going to drive until I can find something interesting to take photo's of. One day! :)

Really nice. I like the intermittent panels identifying the property.

nookworm said...

I'd like to meet the person whose idea it was to insert those fine panels! They sure DO make a statement.

don said...

The number of panels is amazing that any owner would want to spend that amount of money along his/her fence. Those gates look very good. A nice series,

Terri said...

Love the gate! The panels are unique, but I sure would not want that re-painting job!

S. J. Qualls said...

Truly a large ranch and a huge find. Must have cost a fortune, somebody needs to get the paint sprayer out to save it, before it is too late!

sharon said...

I like the panels in the Sandy Oak ranch. interesting.

Stephanie said...

Beatifully decorated fencing, nice images!

pattisjarrett said...

I like the winding driveway behind the first gate view, and those fence panels add a lot of character. I wouldn't want the upkeep on those, either.

Ida said...

What a neat looking fence. I love the Oak Leaves and Acorns. This looks like quite the property. It would be cool to see the home. That first shot with the winding driveway was really pretty.

Hey Theresa,
Quite the ranch and what a fence!
Just for the heck of it, I 'Googled' Sandy Oak Ranch and found a 'famous' Sandy Oaks Ranch and an Olive Oil maker in Texas. Whoda thunked?

Have a Beautiful Day!

Peace :)

Definitely worth a repeat! Fascinating to see those intermittent panels and I agree about both the complicated and impressive welding job and the difficulty of contemplating a fresh paint job.

It's an amazing farm entrance way - I want the gates to open and go exploring!!!
The oak leaf fence is amazing - I especially like the Fleur de Lis on the top - very grand.
I wonder if these sections came from another fence elsewhere?

I love the gates - such creativity and beauty! There are a few good gates near me too. I should photograph them someday. Someone told me that all the gates are on former Texans' land but I know that's not true. We have one that the former owner saved from the junkyard :)
